Emily Irene VanCamp was originally interested in becoming a dancer, but following a trip to Katie's studio in the Ladies Room, she became more inclined to act. Her career in acting began when she began taking classes. In addition, she was offered appearances on television shows in her homeland of Canada. A few of the series she was a part of, among others included: Are You afraid of the Dark? Radio Active, Dice. VanCamp made a success in his career when being cast in Glory Days, the WB mystery horror show. Though the show garnered positive reviews, its low ratings caused it to be ended after nine short episodes. In spite of her May 12th, 1986 birthday her actress was offered the role of Everwood on its set as Amy Abbott. She was nominated to win four Teen Choice Awards and a Young Artist Award.
